Individual Therapy

How does talking help?

Talking in therapy helps you learn more about your emotional world and have new emotional experiences. With a more expansive understanding of yourself, you can meet emotional challenges with more self-assurance, let go of strategies that seem to be hurting more than helping, and build more fulfilling relationships. Having greater access to your feeling life isn’t always easy, but it can imbue your experience with meaning and help you to feel more alive.

For many, therapy is an experience of a new kind of relationship, one that provides a groundwork for cultivating other relationships with more confidence, openness, and ease. It can also help you to come into a more caring and accepting relationship with yourself. If you want to navigate the world with more authenticity and flexibility—and with a stronger sense of vitality—psychotherapy can help.

For more information on the efficacy of the kind of therapy I practice, see Jonathan Shedler’s thoroughly researched article on the subject.

Fees

$175 per 50-minute session

I’m not on any insurance panels, but I’m happy to provide you with receipts for services if you would like to submit claims to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. In this case, I would be categorized by your insurance company as an out-of-network provider.

Any appointment cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged the full session fee.
